Passing Off Songs For The Primary Program 2024

I am so proud of myself for learning how to make a QR code! I am not the most technology savvy. Thank goodness for YouTube tutorials! I told the primary that if they listen to the playlist every day during the week then I will give them a treat on the following Sunday. We go by the honor code. Bribery works! haha!

The primary is working on passing off all of the songs to earn a pizza party. My primary president made a pizza pie without all of the slices in the pan. The pizza pie pan and the slices of pizza are obviously made out of cardstock. Each pizza slice has a song written on the back. Once the song is passed off then that pizza slice is placed into the pizza pan. Once each pizza slice is placed into the pan then it will make the entire pizza pie and the kids earn a pizza party. In order to pass off a song the children must follow certain rules. Here are the rules:

1. Sit Reverently

2. Sit on edge of chair (When I put my hands up like this:

(This was clearly from the internet)

then the children know to sit on the front edge of their chair with their feet on the floor, except for little Sunbeams that can't reach the floor even when they are on the edge of their chair.)

3. Stand up reverently and at attention (Everything we do has to be reverent, including standing up. If the children jump up then I tell them not to be like popcorn popping. They need to stand up smoothly and go along with my hands. We practice sitting on the edge of the chair and standing up correctly.)

4. Know the words to the songs

5. Sing with all of your heart in your best voice

6. Sit Down Reverently

* I put the rules up on the board so that the children can follow along with them. I have pictures for each rule so that those that can't read can at least see the pictures. I did not make PDF's. Here is a picture of the rules I put on the board:

(Sign two and three should be switched.)

Good luck with your Primary Program!!

Simple Medley of Dare To Do Right, Choose the Right Way, and I Will Be Valiant

My sister, Amy, is the best musician I know.  Every instrument she touched she would become the best at playing.  Her main instruments are piano, harp, and flute.  She is a professional flutist.  I could give her spectacular resume here, but that is not the point of this post.  Amy helped me by writing simple transitions between the songs Dare To Do Right, Choose the Right Way, and I Will Be Valiant.  The transitions are only a few notes and super simple.  Then she wrote a flute part to go along with the medley.  She made it to where most pianists and flutists can play it.

Here is the PIANO PARTS for "Dare To Do Right" and "Choose The Right Way" with the very simple transitions between songs (there are only a few notes for each transition):

I did not include "I Will Be Valiant" with the above PDF because it is just like the song in the book, but here is a PDF of "I Will Be Valiant" just so you do not have to get the Children’s Songbook out to make a copy:

Here are the PDF's for the FLUTE PART of "Dare To Do Right", "Choose The Right Way", and "I Will Be Valiant":

Dare To Do Right Flute Part

Choose The Right Way Flute Part

I Will Be Valiant Flute Part

I recorded my sister playing the piano with the transitions and then we screen mirrored it on my mom's tv so she could play the flute part along with the piano part. We had no idea what volume to turn the tv. It is a very amateur recording, but it gives you a good idea of what it would sounds like. The only change is at the very end of "I Will Be Valiant". The flute part will play the last note an octave lower then what my sister plays in the video. Also, she plays a rendition of the bass part on "Choose the Right Way". I put it into Treble Clef. She didn't write a flute part of "Choose the Right Way" because a little sunbeam will be singing it and we didn't want to make it confusing for her.

My sister whipped these flute parts together lickity split.  I asked her to make the transitions and flute part simple.  I have two pianists that switch every week playing the piano.  They are both above a beginner, but they both have difficulty playing some of the songs.  I thought a flute part might make the simple primary songs be a little more musical.  My sister will also be writing a violin part for the song "I Know That My Savior Loves Me".

Soft or Hard Heart Simple Object Lesson and Singing Time Game

**If you are wanting to see what the object lesson and activity are before you start preparing then skip to the part that says OBJECT LESSON and the part that says GAME.**

 INTRODUCTION:

You could hear a pin drop in the primary room during this simple object lesson that teaches about having a soft heart or a hard heart.  I loved the answers that some of the youngest in primary gave.  I asked the question, "What does it mean to have a hard heart?"  A little Sunbeam rose her hand and in her sweet little voice, she answered, "It means that your heart is sad because it does not have Jesus."  So sweet, and so true!  You can correlate this object lesson and game to go along with anything that is being taught in CFM.

SUPPLIES NEEDED:

1. Play Dough (I brought many containers of Play Dough to primary, but the most important color to have is either red or pink to mold a heart)

2. Rock (preferably a rock that is the size of the palm of your hand)

3. White poster board

4. Black poster board (or a different color than white)

5. Post it notes or you can cut out paper that is about the size of a Post It note.

6. Paper to print out red hearts and rocks (If you don't want to print then you could draw and color rocks and hearts on paper and cut them out with scissors.)

PREPARATION:

1.  Cutout a Tic Tac Toe (or the hashtag symbol) using the black poster board or whatever color poster board you have on hand.

2.  Glue the Tic Tac Toe board onto the white poster board.  (I like to get my poster boards laminated, but since it was late Saturday night when I was putting this together, I was unable to get it done.)

3.  Write or print out each song.  Make sure the title of the songs are small enough to be covered by a Post It note.  Tape or glue song names into each square of the Tic Tac Toe.

4.  Print out rocks and hearts for the Tic Tac Toe game.  Again, you can draw hearts and rocks.  The children do not care if the hearts and rocks are perfect!

5.  Optional:  Print out one picture that represents each song you are singing for the program.  Just, FYI, I think this was the children's favorite part of the activity.  I'll explain later in this post.

6.  I try to put everything together on my kitchen counter on Saturday night so I don't forget anything.  I also leave Sacrament Meeting a little early to set up the Primary room.  I can't get into the Primary room until the ward before my ward is out and that ward is not out of church until the middle of my Sacrament Meeting.

OBJECT LESSON:

(Keep the lesson short and sweet.  You don't even need to do the "wrap it up" part and it would still be great.  Most of the time should be singing.)

A. Call a child to come up to the front of the primary room.  Ask the child to mold the red (or pink) play dough into a heart.  Display the heart on the pulpit or somewhere in the room.

B.  Call another child up to the front.  Hand the child the rock and ask him to mold it into a heart.  Why can't you mold the rock into a heart?  (It's too hard.)

CWhat does it mean to have a hard heart?  (Have children give their answers.  Their answers are so pure!)

"Having a hard heart means that it is too hard for the spirit to get into our hearts.  It means we have a hard time feeling love, especially from our Heavenly Father.  It means we can't be molded or accept anything from God."

D.  What does it mean to have a soft heart?  (Have children give their answers)

"Having a soft heart means that our hearts can be molded by Heavenly Father.  It means that out hearts will recognize the spirit and allow the spirit into our hearts.  Having a soft heart means that we can feel Heavenly Father's love."

I made sure to cover anything that wasn't covered in the children's answers.  They did such a great job that I didn't have much to say.

**At this point in the lesson, I talked about Alma the Younger's hard heart and how his heart became softened. You don't have to talk about any scripture prophet or you can talk about a scripture prophet that is part of CFM at the time you teach the lesson.**

Wrap it up: The gift of agency is one of the greatest gifts Heavenly Father has given us!  He desires to bless us, lead us, comfort us, heal us, strengthen us, and to reveal all things to us.  But He will never force us.  So, what will we do?  Will we harden our hearts and not be able to feel the Holy Ghost or Heavenly Father's love for us?  Or, will we soften our hearts and allow him to mold us into a better and happier person than we could ever be without him?

SINGING TIME GAME:

How to Play:  Call on a reverent child to come up and take one of the Post It notes (or paper) off of one of the squares which will reveal a song.  If the children sing the song with all of their hearts (know the words, sing at a good volume, respectful) then they get to put a heart in the square.  If the children mumble the words, do not know the words, don't sing, don't sing at a good volume, etc, then a rock goes in the square.  We had the piano player play against the kids.  She was the rocks and the kids were the hearts.

VIDEO OF HOW TO PLAY THE GAME & HOW TO INCORPORATE THE PLAY DOUGH:

EXTRA (FYI, the kids loved this part)

I was only looking for one container of red or pink Play Dough.  I sent my husband to the store and he came back with a case of Play Dough.  I still have no idea what we are going to do with all this Play Dough since we no longer have little kids.  It worked out great for Singing Time though!

After a child would come up and take the sticky tab off the Tic Tac Toe board to reveal the song, I would call on another child to come up to "mold" a picture that has to do with the song we were singing.  I printed out one picture to go along with each song.  The child molding the picture with the Play Dough would have the picture as a reference.  Then I would show the picture.  The kids thought this was so much fun.  I only called on kids that wanted to participate.  I also told them that none of us are professionals and creating something out of Play Dough is very hard.  I made a big deal about how wonderful each creations was.  The child chosen had plenty of Play Dough to choose from!  Haha!

Here are the songs and pictures I chose for the songs:

I Know That My Savior Loves Me

I Will Be What I Believe

Nephi's Courage

Scripture Power

The Liahona

We are singing about eight songs for the Primary Program, but these were the songs I wanted to concentrate on.

Blow Up Dice No Prop or Prep Primary Song Review Activity

 INTRODUCTION:

I love simple activities that I can just grab-and-go, especially when life seems extra hectic.  My favorite grab-and-go activity is the Silly Signs.  If you do not know what I am talking about, then look at my blog post here.  The Silly Signs do take much more prep than this activity, even though the prep is worth it.  You can have the signs forever and even add on to the Silly Signs when you have ideas.  The dice Singing Activity is so simple and takes a ton less prep than the Silly Signs!

SUPPLIES NEEDED:

1.  I ordered two of these blowup dice from Amazon:

2.  I created visuals and then printed them out on cardstock for the No-Prep/No Prop singing activities.  I got the singing activity ideas from  here on camillesprimaryideas.com.  Here are two samples of the activity visuals:

VISUAL PDF'S:

Here are the PDF's that you can print.
Move your mouse in the left right hand corner and you will see a little arrow inside a small box.  Click on it to open the PDF's.                     ðŸ Ÿ

After I printed the pictures I had to trim them so they would fit in the dice plastic inserts.  I think I cut them to be 8"x8".  Maybe a little smaller.  I cut one of them the size it should be and then used that to measure all of the other papers.

**There are 12 inserts on the dice and only 9 No Prep/Prop activities on Camille's website that I used.  I made a sign for "Body Rhythm" and I put one "Silly Sign" on each of the dice.  The kids love the silly signs.  In fact some of the children just wanted to do the Silly Signs.  If you do not have Silly Signs, then you can make your own sign for the remaining two plastic inserts on the dice.  You could have a sign that says "your choice" or "teachers sing" or any other idea you come up with.

HOW TO USE:

There are two different ways I have used the Silly Signs and the Dice Signs.

1.  You can use the dice to review one song.  This way every time you sing the same song there is a different activity to go along with the song so the children do not get bored singing the same song over and over.

2.  You can use the dice to review multiple songs.  This way you would choose out of the songs you are teaching for the program and have someone role the dice to see which activity to do while singing the song chosen.  It is a great way to review the songs for the program.

DESCRIPTION OF EACH ACTIVITY:

I don't know about you, but my mind goes blank sometimes when I am up in front of the children.  I made a Word document with the description of each activity.  I had it sitting on the little table in front of the primary room so that I could easily reach for it and read the description.  Don't read it out loud.  I learned the hard way that there are some activities where the children have to guess the song or the word.  Also, for the Body Rhythm activity, I just asked four children to come up.  I gave each child a rhythm (snap fingers, clap, pat lap, stomp foot).  Then when I touched a child's head the child would do the rhythm assigned to him/her.  Then I would put my hand on the next child's head and that child would do the rhythm assigned to him/her, and so on.  Here are the activity descriptions (rules/definitions):

Silent Singer:

A child is called out into the hallway. The Primary chooses another child to be the silent singer.  They are to only mouth the words but make no sound (in essence, pretending to sing). The child in the hallway is called back in and must figure out who is the silent singer.

Body Pitch Leading:

As you sing a song, have the children stand and move their bodies up or down relating to how the notes move in the song.  If the notes move up, the bodies move up and as the notes move down, bodies move down.

Endure to the End:

Children hold up their arms (like a “T”) as they sing.  The last child to put their arms down is the winner.  It doesn’t get any easier than that!

Charades:

Pick keywords, phrases or song titles to have the children act out.  Once guessed, sing the song!  If guessing words, a fun variation is to omit that word (or sing it loudly) when singing the song.

Lights Off:

Sing when the lights are on and listen (don’t sing) when the lights are off as the piano continues playing.  Choose good singers to switch the lights on and off as the rest of the children sing.

Duck, Duck, Sing!:

Put chairs in a circle or sit on the floor in a circle. A child walks around the room tapping heads. The pianist plays the song and stops randomly. The person who was tapped on the head last has to say what the next word or line of the song is. If they get it correctly, they get to be the next one to go around the room.

Jack in the Box:

All the kids are in a pretend box. Think of a word in your song (preferably one that repeats a lot) and don’t share it.  When the secret word is sung, give two thumbs up to the kids. The kids jump up when they see your thumbs. At the end of the song, the kids have to tell you what your secret word was.

Who’s Missing:

Send a child into the hall and pick 2-4 kids to hide together behind the piano (or bring a blanket or sheet). The child from the hall returns and has until the end of song to figure out who is missing from their seat.

Freeze Tag:

The pianist stops randomly and the kids freeze.  Choose a child.  The child must complete the phrase by saying it correctly in order to unfreeze the Primary.  If incorrect, the Primary must remain frozen for the remainder of the song.  If correct, the Primary unfreezes and continues on with a new child and phrase to freeze

Independence Day!!!! (Song Review)

I figure if you are looking at my blog for Independence Day Singing Time ideas then you most likely have my viewpoint on celebrating fourth of July in primary.  If you want to skip my thoughts on the subject and get right into the activity then skip the introduction and go straight to the next section.

INTRODUCTION:

I saw a post on the Facebook group page, Latter-Day Saint Primary Music Leaders.  The poster asked, "Do you think it is okay for the primary to say the Pledge of Allegiance to start out our Olympic (or 4th of July) activity?"  It shocked me how many people replied with comments, like, "Church is about Christ, not politics.)  How is saying the Pledge of Allegiance controversial?  Celebrating America's birth or gratitude for the USA coincides with the gospel of Jesus Christ.  It is because of the freedoms that were given to citizens when the country was founded that the gospel of Jesus Christ was able to be restored!  Prophets, past and present, have given talks on the United States of America, the Constitution, and the founding fathers.  I remember as a little girl President Benson's many talks on the United States of America.  Just last year there was a talk in sacrament meeting about freedom of religion in our country.  I also think about the 12th Article of Faith, which says, "We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law."  The most recent talks about the laws and the Constitution was given by President Oaks in General Conference.  Here are some quotes from that talk:

"The United States Constitution is unique because God revealed that He “established” it “for the rights and protection of all flesh” (Doctrine and Covenants 101:77; see also verse 80). That is why this constitution is of special concern for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout the world."

"Without a Bill of Rights, America could not have served as the host nation for the Restoration of the gospel, which began just three decades later."

"Our belief in divine inspiration gives Latter-day Saints a unique responsibility to uphold and defend the United States Constitution and principles of constitutionalism wherever we live."

"I testify of the divinely inspired Constitution of the United States and pray that we who recognize the Divine Being who inspired it will always uphold and defend its great principles. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen."

I know that this talk by President Oaks was mainly about the Constitution and the rights of the people.  The talk shows how the USA Constitution was divine from God.  The Pledge of Allegiance is a way to express devotion and love to the founding of our country and our freedoms.  The Star Spangled Banner (the national anthem) is in our hymn books.  There are also other patriotic songs in the hymn book and children's songbook.

In no way is it controversial to say the Pledge of Allegiance or sing patriotic songs in Sacrament Meeting, Primary, or any other church meeting.  We should recognize our blessings that we have because we live in the USA!  There are many hardships and controversies happening in the USA at this time.  However, the foundation of our country is divine and should be recognized.  Never, ever, should anyone ask the question if it is okay to do something patriotic in primary.  If someone has an issue with it then that is their problem.  There is nothing in the church that would be against something patriotic.

With that said, here is the activity I did for Independence Day.  I just wish I had remembered to take pictures!

SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR INDEPENDENCE DAY SINGING ACTIVITY:

SUPPLIES NEEDED:

*Beach ball

*Squirt Gun (I think my husband got a little one at The Dollar Store)

*Party Poppers for the number of songs you want to sing

*Glow Sticks

*Small USA flags for each person in primary (There might be some at the Dollar Store.  I got the small flags from Walmart.  I am sure there is a store online that has them cheaper.)

*Some play musical instruments (Not actual instruments, but instruments like plastic kazoos or tambourines.)

*Poster Board

*Red marker (preferably a red permanent marker)

*White star stickers (I made the stickers with my cricut, but the stars do not have to be stickers.  They can also be made out of white paper.  The stars are going to be placed on the US flag.)

*Any red, white and blue decor you would like to put around the room

Links to Some 4th of July Supplies:

I bought items for this activity because I did not have the supplies around the house.  I also prepared it last minute, so I was scrounging for the items at local stores instead of ordering them on Amazon or somewhere I could find the items cheaper.  Here are the links to some of the items that I used for the 4th of July singing activity:

4th of July Beach Ball or 4th of July Beach Ball(I wanted a 4th of July beach ball, but I could not find one in any store.  You can order a 4th of July beach ball or buy a red or blue beach ball like I did at Walmart.)

Party Poppers (I used the red and blue party poppers in the package)

4th of July Glow Sticks

kazoos  (I spent way too much on these kazoos.  At first I was thinking that every child in the primary would need a musical instrument when I first ordered them.  Then I decided that I was only going to have about 8-10 kids come up to play the musical instruments.  I got the rest of the play instruments from my mom who taught school for many, many years.  She gave me a container that had play cymbals, tambourines, drum sticks, and maracas in it.  You can ask a local preschool or grade school teacher, or ward members if they have some play instruments.  If you can't find any then get creative.  You can use Fourth of July paper plates as cymbals, toy blocks to make a beat, a few kazoos, a harmonica if you have one laying around, etc.)

PREPARATION:

1.  I drew a USA flag on a poster board.  I used a yard stick to make the red stripes straight and I measured the length between each red stripe.  I made stripes from the top to the bottom of the poster board.  Then I got an blue 8.5" x 11" cardstock paper and stuck it in the upper left-hand corner of the poster board.  I laminated the blue cardstock paper with my little laminator because I did not have time to go to a place like Office Max and get it laminated.  I am now going to laminate the entire thing so I can use it on future Independence Days.

2.  Type or write out each song on a strip of paper and then place them in the party poppers.  I had to look up how to get the strips of papers in the party poppers.  The YouTube video was not about how to place something in the party poppers, but it explained how to open the party poppers, which gave me the information I was looking for!  Here is the link to the YouTube video:

3.  Make a paper star.  I laminated my paper star.  It should be about the size of your hand.  It is to play find the star (like find the note).

4.  Make sure to put water in the squirt gun before Primary starts!

5.  Put everything you will be using for the activity in a box so that it is easier to carry into primary

6.  Set up everything before Primary starts including any decor you want to put around the room.  Put tin foil over the windows in the primary room so that when the lights are turned off for the glow stick song that it is dark.  Warn the primary pianist that the lights will be turned off so that she can be ready to turn her phone flashlight on.  I put my phone flashlight on also so that she had extra light to see the music.

CELEBRATING INDEPENDENCE DAY PRIMARY SINGING TIME ACTIVITY:

This singing time activity is actually pretty simple after you have all the supplies. Before the activity begins, tell the primary children that they can earn stars to put on the flag.  They can earn up to three stars.  One star for knowing the words, another star for singing at a good volume, and another star for being respectful.  The song with the beach ball is rowdy, so I gave them the star for respect even though it was rowdy.

 1.  Pick a reverent child to come up and pop one of the party poppers.  Find the strip of paper with the song written on it.  Then do the corresponding 4th of July activity to go along with that song.  You may need to explain some of the activities so they get the correlation between 4th of July and the activity.

2.  After the song is done, put the amount of stars they have earned on the flag.

Here are the activities that I did to go along with each song.  You can assign each activity to the songs you are teaching in primary for the year.

*The Liahona:  TURN OFF THE LIGHTS!  Children lead with glow sticks that I put under their chair before primary started.  They loved the glow sticks and they got to keep them.

*Nephi's Courage:  Use the beach ball.  One side of the room throws it to the other side of the room, like beach volleyball.  I always give rules or expectations before an activity like this one.  I told the children that they are not allowed to spike the ball or throw it hard.  It has to be soft.  They did a great job!

*Scripture Power:  Find the star.  This is played the same way "Find the Note" is played.  The children sing soft when the finder is far away from the star and sing louder the closer the finder is to the star.

*I Will Be What I Believe:  Use the squirt gun.  4th of July is extremely hot where I live so it is a must to include water activities on Independence Day.  Squirt the children singing the song well with the squirt bottle.  The kids love this too!

*I Know That My Savior Loves Me:  Use the little flags for the children to lead the music with you.  I had the little flags in Mason jars on the little table in the front of the room.  I did not want to stick the flags on the ground under the children's chairs before primary because I respect the flag and want the children to learn to respect the flag.  I put them in about 5 Mason jars so that some teachers could grab them and pass them out quickly.  After the song, I had the same people gather the flags and put them back into the jars.  This song is a reverent, smooth, beautiful song, so I chose this song for the children to lead the music with American flags.  I turned towards the white board so that the children could copy me leading the song.  Here is a picture:

*For three of the songs I had about 5-10 children come up to play instruments for the "4th of July parade."  You could even have the children that are playing the instruments march in place or march around the room.  I knew the children would love being picked to play in the marching band parade, so that is why I have three songs that include the instruments.  It is not a pretty sound, but the children have so much fun.  It is to celebrate our country, so it should be fun!  The songs that were chosen for the marching band were Dare to Do Right, Choose the Right Way, and I Will Be Valiant.  I gave the children a star for respect for these songs also, since obviously it is going to get loud and rowdy.

Here is a picture of the "4th of July Parade" instruments that I used:

My dad passed away in February of this year.  He was a drummer.  The drumsticks were the last drumsticks he used before he passed away.  I had the "drummers" in the parade use the floor to make the drum beats.  That way it was not so loud!  I had about three tambourines.  Again, you do not need to go out and buy play instruments to make a marching band!

Jesus (or the Holy Ghost) Can Be Your Shadow

This has always been one of my favorite activities/lessons in primary.  It is visual so the children get the concept easily about Christ and/or the Holy Ghost being with them wherever they go or whatever they are doing.  This year I used this lesson/activity for teaching “I Know That My Savior Loves Me”.  Last time I used the shadow lesson I taught “If the Savior Stood Beside Me”.  You can use the shadow lesson with any song that has to do with Jesus Christ or the Holy Ghost.

LESSON:

1. Show the Picture of the Savior with the Nephite children.

“By a raise of hands, who can tell me what this picture is about?”

Were any of you there to feel the Savior’s arms around you?

“You might not have been there with him, but the Savior loves you just as much as the children of his day.”

2.  Shadow Puppets

What is something that follows you wherever you go and mimics your every action.  Sometimes it can be seen, and sometimes it can’t.  Sometimes even if it can be seen, you don’t notice it.  What is it?

Answer:  Your shadow

*Turn your flashlight on and turn the lights off in the room. Have a presidency member hold the flashlight and point it to the front of the room.  Show the children some shadow puppets with your hands.  Then move around.  Point out how your shadow follows you everywhere.  It is with you no matter what you do or where you go.

3.     What would it be like if Jesus was your shadow?  What if he went everywhere with you?

Jesus is like your shadow.  He is always there.  You may not see him, but he is still there.  Sometimes you may not feel him, but he is still there.  He is always there, just like your shadow.

Jesus loves each of you.  He knows you by name.  He knows your likes and dislikes.  He loves you no matter what!  Whenever you see your shadow, let it be a reminder that Jesus Christ loves you and is with you.

SHADOW PUPPET VISUALS &

INTRODUCING THE SONG:

(The PDF shadow puppet visuals and the PDF song visuals will be at the end of this blog post.)

"Today we will be learning the song 'I Know That

My Savior Loves Me'".

        1. Ask a class or two to come up to help you hold the shadow puppet visuals.  Have the first child hold the first visual up and sing the line of the song.  Have the children repeat the line.  Do this for every shadow puppet visual.

        2.  Sing the entire song with the children holding up the visuals.  I stand by the child holding the visual of the line we are singing.  I basically go down the row of children as we sing the song.

3 .  Put the visuals away and have the children sit down.

        4.  Show the children the visuals or flipchart of the visuals. When I am teaching a song for the first time, I tape the visuals to the board in front of the room, so they can see all the visuals and my hands are free.

        5.  Sing through the song a few times.  Go over any lines or notes of the song that are iffy.

ACTIVITY:

     1.  Cut out a paper, felt, or foam heart.  Have the children pass the heart around as you sing the song.  Have the piano player stop randomly.  Whichever child has the heart when the song stops will tell how they know the Savior loves them.  I told the children before we started the activity that one of the ways I feel the Savior's love is when I am in nature.  I am in awe at the world around me.  I went first so that they had an example.  Many of the junior primary children wanted help from their teachers, which is great!

I Know That My Savior Loves Me Visuals Verse 2:

Shadow Puppets:

(I got images off the internet and in the gospel library.  I used my cricut to cut them out.  If you are doing a different song other than "I Know that My Savior Loves Me" and need help making shadow puppets then please do not hesitate to ask me for help.  I do not know how to take multiple projects in Cricut and stick them all in the same PDF.  Each line of the song has it's own PDF.)

A long time ago in a beautiful place

children were gathered round Jesus

He blessed and taught as they felt of his love

Each saw the tears on his face

The love that he had for his little ones, I know he feels for me

I did not touch him or sit on his knee

yet Jesus is real to me

I know He lives

I will follow faithfully
